Danny Clegg visited Bangor University , North Wales to diseeminate his research and talk about KESS.
His project is funded by Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships (KESS) and Tonus ,an organisation within Wales aimed at encouraging collaboration between Universities and local companies. On occasion he met with Penny Dowdney , head of KESS for Bangor University (KESS Central) at national events and the international doctoral school in 2013.

World rugby league champions team up with CTDRU

November 15, 2013

CTDRU members are working with the Australian rugby league current world champions – to study the impact of the sport on their bodies.

Just days before their victory over England at the first fixture of the Rugby League World Cup at the Millennium Stadium, the team met with the Australian team’s medical staff.

Bianca Zietsman and Peter W McCarthy discussed injuries with the staff and performed data collection on squad members, focusing on neck range of motion.

The funding organisation who organised the studentship is called ”Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships” (KESS), and works in partnership with the European Social Fund (ESF) to create studentships at Master of Research (MRes) and PhD level.

Name change for the Chiropractic Research Unit

The Chiropractic Research Unit will now be known as The Clinical Technology and Diagnostics Research Unit.

The reason behind the name change is to emphasise the shift from having a strong chiropractic and complementary medical influence, to one which has become more cross faculty; being heavily linked to the study of applied technology in a diagnostic setting (working with members of CEPE and Prof Wilcox’s groups in advanced technology).
